The McKay-Dee Family Medicine Residency program is staffed by local faculty physicians and personnel that organize and provide intensive medical training in the full spectrum of family medicine.

 

 
Stephen D. Scharmann, MD
Assistant Residency Director/Assistant Clinical Professor
Dr. Scharmann received his medical degree from University of California, San Francisco, and then completed a three-year training program in family medicine in Santa Rosa, California, followed by a family practice fellowship. He has a certificate of added qualifications in sports medicine and is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Utah. Dr. Scharmann is the medical director of the McKay-Dee Sports Medicine Clinic and team physician for Weber State University and various local high schools. His clinical practice is based at the Porter Family Medicine Residency Clinic.

Bryan J. Campbell, MD
Core Faculty
Dr. Campbell graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine with honors. He completed his three-year residency training in Ogden at the McKay-Dee Family Medicine Residency Program in 1981. Since that time, Dr. Campbell has been a faculty member of the residency program in various capacities and practiced in Layton, Utah. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice. Dr. Campbell's interests include surgery, obstetrics, and general family practice.

Anne M. Hutchinson, M.D.
Core Faculty
Dr. Hutchinson earned her medical degree at the University of Utah and then completed a residency in family medicine at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. She subsequently practiced medicine in the Boston, Massachusetts area and at South Ogden Center for Family Medicine prior to joining the faculty at McKay-Dee. Medical interests include chronic disease management, preventive medicine, and teaching.

Norman S. Anderson, III, PhD
Behavioral Medicine Coordinator
Dr. Anderson has completed doctoral level training in both psychology and neuro-physiology at the University of Utah and University of California, San Diego. His areas of interest are the physiologic antecedents of illness and corresponding manifestations in primary care. He has worked extensively in a variety of clinical settings, dealing with the mental health aspects of physical illness and is currently involved in a project to develop rapid psychological assessment for the primary care physician.


Kay Holmes Kay Holmes
Residency Coordinator
Kay is the residency coordinator of the McKay-Dee Family Medicine Residency Program. She serves in a number of roles including: administrator, counselor, resident advocate, organizer, recruiter, social director, alumni affairs officer, coach and strategic planner.
